In this clinical exemplar I describe a shift I had during my preceptorship where one of the patients I was caring for took a turn that we were not expecting. This was my first experience where a patient I was caring for took a turn that was not expected. This clinical exemplar describes the situation and the events that occurred before and after the patient took a turn for the worst. I also describe the feelings I was feeling during this and how as a healthcare team we communicated and worked together to help the patient during this time.
